Preparing your own income tax return can be a task that leaves you with more questions than answers. According to a study released by the US Government's General Accounting Office last year, most taxpayers (77% of 71 million taxpayers) believe they benefited from using a professional tax preparer.
Whether we like it or not, today's tax laws are so complicated that filing a relatively simple return can be confusing. It is just too easy to overlook deductions and credits to which you are entitled. Even if you use a computer software program there's no substitute for the assistance of an experienced tax professional.
Here's our process:
- Your tax return is prepared by a team process. First, your data is input by a staff member with at least three years of income tax preparation experience. This person also compares the return to last year's return, and notes information that appears to be missing. Next, the return is reviewed by a staff member with at least ten years of income tax preparation experience. Finally, the return is reviewed and finalized by a CPA, who will call you to resolve any questions. Currently, our staff has an average of 18 years of return preparation experience.
- Your tax returns can be filed electronically, and there is no additional charge. If you have refunds due, electronic filing speeds up the process, especially if your refunds are deposited into your bank account.
